ComScore, a company focused on measuring the digital world, has released data from its MobiLens service that reports key trends in the Canadian mobile phone industry. The report found that 8 million people in Canada owned smartphones in September 2011, representing 40% of the country’s mobile phone market, a gain of 7 percentage points in the past six months.
The report also ranks the leading mobile original equipment manufacturers and smartphone operating system platforms in Canada according to their share of current mobile subscribers ages 13 and older, and reviews the most popular activities and content accessed via subscribers’ primary mobile phones.
