Alberta organizations offer aid to flood victims

Urban animal organizations across Southern Alberta opened their doors to aid in the housing and care of pets stranded by extensive flooding in the province. 

Calgary Humane Society, Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS) and Alberta Animal Services were among the dozens of shelters to provide boarding. 

Furthermore, AARCS and Pound Rescue volunteers assisted with the evacuation and rescue of pets in Siksika Nation where approximately 15 horses, four pigs and 20 dogs and cats were brought to dry land. 

Calgary Humane Society's website maintains space is still available for pets of  evacuated residents and encourages people to bring found animals to the shelter.
