PIJAC releases Small mammal program

PIJAC Canada's Certified Companion Animal Specialist Program (CCASP) is being converted from its original format to ensure unlimited accessibility to the program for all Canadian pet industry businesses.

Earlier this week, PIJAC released the conversion of the fifth of six distance education programs making up the CCASP. The Small Mammal Program covers essential small animal maintenance and identification curriculum for mice rabbits, hamster, ferrets and other small mammals.

The Certified Companion Animal Specialist Program was developed by veterinarians and pet industry experts to train people who work with pets on a regular basis and in the field of proper animal husbandry.

The Canine, Feline, Reptile, Avian and Small Mammal Certification Specialities are offered by PIJAC Canada and available online or on CD in French or English. The evolution of the Program will continue over the next year. The Freshwater Fish specialty is the remaining program to be converted, but is still available in the old format (seminar and homestudy modules).
