Canadian filmmaker documents rescue dog stories

A Toronto filmaker is making a TV documentary series about rescued dogs and the stories behind their second chances at life.

Independent filmmaker Judith Keenan has produced and sold films and documentaries to Bravo!, Pet Network, CBC, CTV and TVOntario. Her current project, "Furever Home" will profile individual dogs, how and why they were rescued, their rehabilitation processes and their final home.

"The work being done by rescue groups and those who foster the rescued dogs and help them get through the trauma that many of these animals must have been through, and get them ready for their adoption homes, is truly amazing," Keenan told The Star

In an effort to bring awareness to dog rescue organizations and shelters, Keenan has also started a website, Furever Network, which features multiple resources, adoptable dogs, discussion forums and more.
