GE LAUNCHES THE WORLDS FIRST INDUSTRIAL APP MARKET PLACE
Just seven short years ago, most consumers didn't have a smart phone or even know what an APP was.
The acceleration of market penetration for smart mobile devices and the APPs that make them irreplaceable in the modern lifestyle has been simply staggering. APPs have invaded everything from games and social life to banking and retailing. In July of 2008 the online stores for Google Android and Apple held several hundred APPS. Today there are millions of APPs for consumers.
Now GE brings into being an online marketplace called PREDIX. Many believe this fourth wave of APPs designed for industry and commercial enterprises will truly change the face of business as we know it.
