Summit - Distinguished Service Provider Award

Presented by Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council of Canada (PIJAC Canada), the Distinguished Service Provider award recognizes innovative services, products or programs that make a positive impact in the lives of pets and people within a specific community or sector of the companion animal industry.

Nominations in this category may also include individuals, media groups, publishers, agencies and associations operating outside of the companion animal industry. In 2011, the distinguished service provider recognized by peers for its level of achievement and impact on the lives of people and pets was the Calgary Humane Society.

Community education was a priority in all of these cases. During this time, they boasted a 100 per cent conviction rate and successfully obtained two lifetime prohibitions from owning animals for severe medical neglect cases.
