A recent article on the US economy reported that consumers planned to spend as much as $8 billion on Halloween in 2012.
Approximately 76 million adults and 64 million children will be dressing up in costume and in 2012, 15 per cent of Americans will dress their pets in costume. This was more than the 14.7 per cent who dressed their pets in 2011, spending more than $310 million in the process.
The most popular pet costume was a pumpkin (12.7 per cent), devil (6.9 per cent) or hot dog (5.7 per cent).
