Summit 2013 Nominees for Individual Achievement

Four finalists vie for the Urban Animal Industry's highest award in the category of Individual Achievement:
  1. Megan Armstrong - Dogma Training for leading the way in dog training and facility formal education for dog trainers in Calgary.
  2. Denise Harkins - Action Volunteers for Animals for her efforts to trap, spay/neuter and return 1,000's of cats. As well as helped find homes for 1,000's of abandoned, stray, and surrendered cats,  and other animals.
  3. Samantha Sanford - Atlantic Veterinary College for volunteering in animal care and as veterinary assistant; working in the humane dog training program doing behavioural assessments; positive training, and enrichment for the dogs; developing a humane education program.
  4. Randy Valpy - Pets Plus Us for being an innovator in the pet community and the pet health industry over the past 12-years, and for developing programs to educate pet owners on the cost of care and the importance of a safe and healthy pets.
The Summit for Individual Achievement recognizes an individual who is currently active in the companion animal industry and who is well regarded for their achievements. Preference will be shown for those who actively mentor and support the development of leaders and professionalism in the industry.


The 2013 Summit for Sheltering will be presented during the Awards Gala on Friday, 18 October 2013. This event is open to the public.
