What Is on Your Pet's Teeth?

Kane Biotech Inc. has recently publicized the results of several studies that were examining the efficacy and safety of its companion animal oral care water additive for dogs. All studies were completed by independent third party research organizations.

All dogs were fed a normal diet (diet not publicized). The control group received plain drinking water and the treatment group received drinking water that contained Kane’s oral care water additive at the recommended dosage. All dogs started the study with a calculus score of 0 and the study lasted 84 days.

The treatment group had statistically significant lower calculus scores on days 28, 56, and 84 compared to the control group (p<0.0229). There were no significant differences between the two groups for body weight or food consumption.

A randomized and masked safety study was also performed. There were three study groups and each received 0, 1, or 5 times the recommended dose added to their drinking water for 30 days. All physical examinations and oral assessments were within normal limits though 50% of the dogs receiving 5 times the recommended dose had intermittently soft feces.

The results show that the Kane Biotech Inc. companion animal oral care water additive for dogs is effective at reducing calculus with daily use. The companion animal oral care water additive was also found safe when administered up to 5 times the recommended dose for 30 days.
