The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved two new drugs for use in cats and dogs.
Tresaderm
Tresaderm is produced by Merial and was approved on July 15th. According to the FDA this medication is used “as an aid in the treatment of certain bacterial, mycotic, and inflammatory dermatoses and otitis externa in dogs and cats.”
Neosporin
Neosporin is provided by Intervet Inc. and was approved on July 30th. According to the FDA this medication is used “for the treatment of superficial bacterial infections of the eyelid and conjunctiva of dogs and cats when due to organisms susceptible to one or more of the antibiotics contained in the ointment.”
