Canadian's Show Increase in Internet Usage

According to the 2012 Canadian Digital Media Report Card, produced by the Stratford Institute, Canadian households and businesses have significantly increased their broadband and Internet connectivity from 2010-2011.

The report revealed the following:
  • In 2010-11, fixed and mobile broadband and Internet services available to Canadian households had increased from 96 per cent to 98 per cent
  • Since 2009, there has been a 10 per cent increase in households with both broadband and Internet services - now 72.2 per cent
  • The average number of Web pages viewed monthly by Canadians grew from 3,349 in 2010 to 3,781 in 2011
  • Canadian businesses have increased their broadband usage, from 90% in 2010 to 94.3% in 2011
