According to the 2012 Canadian Digital Media Report Card, produced by the Stratford Institute, Canadian households and businesses have significantly increased their broadband and Internet connectivity from 2010-2011.
The report revealed the following:
- In 2010-11, fixed and mobile broadband and Internet services available to Canadian households had increased from 96 per cent to 98 per cent
- Since 2009, there has been a 10 per cent increase in households with both broadband and Internet services - now 72.2 per cent
- The average number of Web pages viewed monthly by Canadians grew from 3,349 in 2010 to 3,781 in 2011
- Canadian businesses have increased their broadband usage, from 90% in 2010 to 94.3% in 2011
