OSPCA and OVMA Unleash Got a Pet? Get a Vet!™ Campaign

The Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA) has partnered with the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA) to launch a public awareness campaign that encourages pet owners build relationships with veterinarians. The campaign is titled Got a Pet? Get a Vet!™.

The OSPCA stresses the importance of having a working relationship with a veterinarian. “Veterinarians offer a variety of services to keep your pet(s) happy and healthy,” states Tanya Firmage, Director of Animal Welfare and Operations, Ontario SPCA. “Don’t wait until something goes wrong to take your pet in for a check-up. Schedule a visit with your local veterinarian to ensure a longer, healthier life for your pet(s).”

According to the OPSCA, veterinarians provide services such as:
  • Early Disease Detection
  • Spaying & Neutering
  • Regular Vaccinations
  • Flea, Tick and Parasite Prevention
  • Prevention of Dental Disease
  • Nutritional Counselling
  • Addressing Behavioural Concerns
  • Pet Identification
