Bill C-35, Justice for Animals in Service Act has received Royal Assent and been passed. This law allows for a maximum five year prison sentence and/or a maximum fine of $10 thousand CDN for anyone that kills or injures a law enforcement, military, or service animal. If a law enforcement animal is killed while working there is a mandatory 6 month prison sentence. Canada is changing its laws to better reflect the views of Canadians.
