PetLynx and IdentiGen North America Sign MOA

PetLynx Corporation is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with IdentiGEN North America, Inc.  The purpose of this agreement is to bring DNA services to the companion animal industry.  During 2011 the parties will collaborate to conduct a pilot program with PetLynx associates in the Canadian industry.  The Parties believe DNA services will add an important element to the National Codes of Conduct and for identifying compliant breeders in the Canadian marketplace.

It is expected this service, together with the new BreederLynx™ portal, will assist compliant breeders to demonstrate the level of professionalism they bring to homing pets with Canadian pet families.  In the future, this service can also provide confirmation for those who acquire pets from compliant breeders, retailers and adopters that their animals have been screened for common genetic disorders.
"Since 1996, IdentiGEN has been working in a number of markets to develop a range of cost-effective DNA services that may be used to enhance breeder compliance," said Ronan Loftus, President and CEO of IdentiGEN North America, Inc.   "We are excited about bringing this service to the companion animal industry jointly with PetLynx.  We believe leveraging their extensive database, relationships and portals for this industry can accelerate the development of our business in North America."

There are already thousands of member/breeders compliant with the protocols of the Canadian Kennel Club and the Canadian Cat Association who work diligently to provide the very best for pets and pet families in Canada.

"I think all of us are aware that DNA sampling and our knowledge of the feline and canine genome can be used to enhance the pet family experience and improve compliance in our industry," said Larry Evans, President and CEO of PetLynx Corporation.  "As the industry now collaborates to adopt National Codes of Conduct for breeders, retailers, adopters and service providers, we see the IdentiGEN service as an important element of the new toolkit for voluntary compliance."
