CKC announces 2015 Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting of the Canadian Kennel Club will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph, Guelph, Ontario. The AGM agenda will be made available online in January 2015. The March Board meeting will be held on March 19 and 20, 2015, at the CKC head office.

PetLynx Corporation announces new president
Calgary, AB - PetLynx Corporation Board of Directors has elected Dr. Drew Van Niekerk to the position of President, effective 10 June 2014. Dr. Van Niekerk is a practicing veterinarian in Calgary and brings 18 years experience on the Calgary Humane Society Board of Directors alongside his 22 years at Calgary North Veterinary Hospital.
“Drew brings the deep expertise needed to develop strategies for urban animal communities,” said Larry Evans, former President. “His passion for the pet experience and commitment to creating healthy communities for pets and people will undoubtedly drive positive change for all sectors of our industry. His experience in building Associate Veterinary Clinics into Canada’s largest veterinary service provider and its eventual sale to VCA Antech demonstrates his skill as a business builder. ”
In his new role, Dr. Van Niekerk will focus on the national initiatives cultivated in the Urban Animal program as well as building relationships within the industry and investment community.

It was there I learned the incredible value of the broader conversations that shape our industry and the impact they have on our communities. The trust that is required to get to this next level is enormous and can seem daunting. Consumer and Shareowner Value Creation is Top Priority, P&G CEO Tells Shareowners
Procter & Gamble has established consumer and shareowner value creation as its top priority, chairman, president and CEO A.G. Lafley told the company's shareowners at its annual general meeting earlier this week.
In a review of the business over the past year, Mr. Lafley said P&G had met or exceeded its key financial commitments, including organic sales growth, core earnings per share and free cash flow productivity. The company returned $12.5 billion in cash to share owners. However, he emphasized the company can do better.
Lafley stressed that the company will focus on its core businesses, which include the leading most profitable brands, categories and countries. P&G must ensure its U.S. business is strong and growing while investing in developing markets that have the largest size of prize and where P&G has the highest likelihood of winning. Resources will be allocated to businesses where value can be created and the company will exit those that cannot deliver acceptable shareowner returns.
"We have taken a hard look at what we need to do and how we need to change to perform better," said Lafley. "We're committed to do what it takes to get P&G back to balanced, consistent, reliable and sustainable growth and value creation for consumers, customers, and you, our shareholders."

AASAO hosts Conference and Annual General Meeting
The Association of Animal Shelter Administrators of Ontario (AASAO) will host its first two-day conference in Cambridge 3-4 October, 2013.
The Conference and annual general meeting are set with an agenda of fun and educational events including presentations by Toronto Animal Services' Robert Meerburg on "Value Added to Licensing", Dr. C. Filejski on "Rabies & other fascinating zoonitic diseases" and "The invasion of big bad worms and germs", Dr. F. Rotondo on "Parasites, they just won't go away & to vaccinate or not to vaccinate!", Barbara Cartwright on "Catastrphe" and tour of the Ontario Veterinary College.
