BUSINESS - Global Pet Expo Bigger and Better than Ever

Andrew Darmohraj, executive vice president and COO of the American Pet Products Association (APPA), announced Global Pet Expo 2017 closed its thirteenth Show setting records across the board.

Global Pet Expo, presented by APPA and the Pet Industry Distributors Association (PIDA), expanded the Show Floor to 343,700 net square feet of exhibit space (nearly 24,000 feet larger than 2016).

The event experienced growth in total buyer attendance with 6,761 buyers, up more than 9.5 percent from 2016, and there was a 22 percent increase in international buyer attendance from last year.

Featuring more than more than 3,437 booths, twenty seven percent of the exhibitors were international - up 30 percent from 2016.

“We take pride in our hard work to make Global Pet Expo a unique and rewarding opportunity for attendees each and every year,” said Darmohraj.  “With new exhibiting companies, new innovative products from repeat exhibitors, and even changes to the floor layout, we strive to provide the most beneficial experience to all each year.”

Global Pet Expo Academy featured 29 different seminars and also experienced record breaking participation.

The 2017 Show featured more new product launches than any other show in the industry, and had nearly 1,000 entries in the newly designed 30,000 square-foot New Products Showcase.

The New Products Showcase awards were presented to the top three products in a variety of categories.

Primetime Petz LLC took home the top prize in the Cat category with their new “Catysmile Backpack Cat Carrier” and West Paw Design took home top Dog category award with their new “Qwizl treating toy”.

The pet industry continues to grow and that is reflected in the success of Global Pet Expo.

The 2018 Global Pet Expo will take place March 21-23, 2018 in Orlando, FL, at the Orange County Convention Center.

BUSINESS - Largest Ever Interzoo

Interzoo, the leading trade fair in the international pet industry, closed its 34th edition saying it was the largest ever.

About 39,000 attendees (up 5 percent) from over 90 countries learned about the latest in pet food and grooming supplies, accessories and services for pets.

The number of exhibitors was up 7 percent with 1,818 suppliers from 61 countries.

Norbert Holthenrich, President of the German Pet Trade & Industry Association believes that the show of products and services for the global pet market gave both journalists and visitors a sense that “the market is flourishing.”

This impression is backed up by international economic data from market research institute Euromonitor: “The overall global market has grown to more than €92 billion,” reported Holthenrich at the Interzoo press conference, “and the European pet market accounts for €28.8 billion of that total.”

The next Interzoo will be held once again in Nuremberg, Germany from May 8th May 11th, 2018.

Pet Industry's Largest Annual Trade Show is Next Week

The American Pet Products Association (APPA) and Pet Industry Distributors Association (PIDA) will present Global Pet Expo at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida on March 16 through 18^th.

2016 OVMA Conference Preview Now Available!

The Ontario Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA) organizes the largest veterinary conference in Canada. The conference offers opportunities for continuing education as well as a trade show. The 2016 conference will focus on several topics including small animal and equine medicine and practice management. The conference will be held at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto on January 28-30, 2016.

New Pet Industry Trade Show in United States

The United States is getting a new pet trade show. Urban Expositions has created the P3 | Progressive Pet Products trade show. P3 will be held in 2016 on August 24th and 25th in Chicago, Illinois. This show will be a reinvention of the previous H. H. Backer Total Pet Expo. PIJAC shows sell out in record time

PIJAC Canada announced earlier this week its two spring trade shows are 100% sold out. Manufacturers and distributors from across Canada and the U.S. have booked their exhibit space at the Calgary Pet Industry Trade Show and the Western Pet Expo. 

"We have never sold the shows so quickly," said Roselyne Lévêque, trade show coordinator for PIJAC Canada. "This is going to be a fantastic show season."

Expozoo is moving

PIJAC Canada's ExpoZoo is moving to a new location for its 2013 show. This year, one of Eastern Canada's largest trade shows will relocate to the Sherbrooke Exhibition Centre in Sherbrooke, QC. 

Sherbrooke Exhibition Centre offers a rectangular exhibition hall, a floor plan with all exhibits in one room, four loading docks and three street level dock entries and accessible location with ample parking.
