Animal Care & Control of New York City unveiled its first dedicated Mobile Adoption Center in Union Square Park earlier this week.

The state-of-the-art adoption vehicle was funded by a $60,000 grant from the ASPCA and a $60,000 donation from FENWICK KEATS Real Estate. The vehicle will enable Animal Care & Control to bring shelter dogs and cats to previously unreachable New Yorkers looking to adopt throughout the five boroughs.

"Loving adopters can't always come to us; we have to go to them," said ASPCA President and CEO Matthew Bershadker. "This mobile adoption centre will be a life-changer for not only homeless animals, but also for families and individuals to whom these wonderful pets will bring incredible joy."

Following the launch of a newly designed adoption program last year, New York Animal Care & Control adopted 6,146 animals to the public, an increase of more than 1,300 from 2012. The new Mobile Adoption Center will boost the number of adoptions in years to come by brining great pets available for adoption to more locations throughout the city.
